ASG King and Fowler’s Management Team on Exciting Programme of Investment

ASG King & Fowler’s management team have had a busy year of overseeing investment in new plant and capability at the ASG Group’s Liverpool-based surface treatments division, marking an exciting chapter in the company’s continued growth and investment. With a proud history dating back to 1887, King & Fowler has long been a cornerstone of British manufacturing, and its revitalised leadership team is set to build on this legacy with an unwavering commitment to excellence and innovation.

Stephen Dean has taken on the role of Managing Director, bringing with him a wealth of expertise gained over five years in the aerospace sector at Gardner Aerospace and Brookhouse. Since joining King & Fowler three years ago as Key Account Manager, Stephen has played a pivotal role in driving the business forward. He now leads the site following Gareth Richards’ transition to the position of Central Group Operations Director. Together, the duo has overseen significant milestones, including the installation of a state-of-the-art £1.35 million TSA (Thermal Spray Aluminium) line by the wider ASG Group, headquartered in Stockport. This is in addition to investments in new Paint booths and Developer Cabinets which have positioned the firm for further growth.

Speaking about the investment, Stephen Dean commented, “The TSA line further enhances the industry offering of ASG King & Fowler, providing additional approvals and an increased scope for larger parts. This fully automated line delivers substantial efficiency gains and, alongside the completed upgrades to our PFD and paint facilities, more than doubles our capacity for soft metal processing. These advancements firmly establish King & Fowler as a leading supplier of surface treatments to customers across the UK and Europe.”

The strength of King & Fowler’s leadership extends beyond Stephen Dean, with a cohesive and highly skilled management team working in unison to steer the business into its next phase of growth. Technical Director Paul Porter brings a deep understanding of the company’s core processes and technical capabilities, while Financial Director Ben Mighall ensures robust financial management to support future investments. Quality Assurance Manager Les Thompson underpins the site’s commitment to maintaining the highest standards, a hallmark of the firm’s reputation for excellence.

Stephen Dean highlighted the importance of the team’s unity and shared vision: “The leadership team here at King & Fowler is driven by a collective ambition to build on the firm’s proud history. Together, we are committed to ensuring the continued success of the business through a combination of investment, innovation, and a steadfast dedication to quality. Our team understands the responsibility that comes with leading a company of this heritage, and we are determined to honour that by securing a bright and sustainable future for the business.”

Under the stewardship of this experienced and dedicated management team, King & Fowler is poised to strengthen its position as a key supplier to aerospace and defence industries. With a focus on delivering industry-leading solutions, maintaining rigorous quality standards, and continuing to invest in cutting-edge technology, the firm is well-equipped to meet the evolving needs of its customers while safeguarding its historic legacy.
