ASG Arrowsmith Celebrates King’s Award Win with Team BBQ

ASG Arrowsmith team welcome Lord Lieutenant Timothy Cox to the team celebration barbecue

Arrowsmith, part of the rapidly expanding ASG Group, recently celebrated its prestigious King’s Award for Enterprise in International Trade with a special staff barbecue, bringing together the entire team for a day of fun, food, and family bonding. The event was held on Wednesday 28th August when the Lord lieutenant Timothy Cox presented the Award. Local Dignitaries and past employees also attended the event at the company’s Bayton Road factory, where the management team, led by Managing Director Jason Aldridge, expressed their gratitude to the staff who played a crucial role in this significant achievement.

The King’s Award, one of the most esteemed recognitions in the business world, comes as a result of Arrowsmith Engineering’s remarkable growth in international markets, where the company has seen a nearly 400% increase in overseas sales. The firm’s precision components are now shipped to customers across the globe, including major aerospace players in China, France, Germany, Singapore, and Spain.

Jason Aldridge, Managing Director of Arrowsmith Engineering, highlighted the importance of the team in achieving this milestone: "This award is a testament to the resilience and dedication of our people. From the challenges of the pandemic to our current success, it’s been a journey that would not have been possible without their hard work. Our staff are our greatest asset, and today is about celebrating them and everything they’ve done to get us here." 21 Long service awards were also presented ranging from 10 years to 30 years. A testament to the loyalty and dedication of the workforce.

The barbecue event was more than just a celebration; it was a chance for the team to relax, enjoy some well-earned time off, and strengthen the bonds that make Arrowsmith such a formidable force in the aerospace industry. The day featured a variety of culinary delights, all personally overseen by Aldridge, who was eager to ensure the event was memorable for all.

"We wanted to give something back to the team, something that reflects our appreciation for all their efforts," Aldridge added. "A relaxed, family-friendly event like this BBQ seemed like the perfect way to do that. It’s been a tough few years, but we’ve come through stronger than ever, and that’s thanks to every single member of our team."

Martin Porter, General Manager of ASG Arrowsmith, echoed Aldridge’s sentiments, stating the collective effort that led to this success. "Our team has been phenomenal, not just in terms of output but in the way we’ve come together to meet challenges head-on. The King’s Award is a huge honour, and it’s a clear indicator of what we can achieve when we work together. This barbecue is just a small token of our appreciation for everything the team has done."

Looking ahead, ASG Arrowsmith has ambitious plans to continue building on its success, with new strategic partnerships and further expansion in the works. The company’s sights are set on increasing its annual sales to over £25 million in the next two years, a move that is expected to create 15 new jobs in the UK.

As the barbecue drew to a close, the sense of camaraderie and achievement was palpable. With the King’s Award in hand and a team more motivated than ever, the future looks bright for ASG Arrowsmith.
